Wilmar Tops Global Children’s Rights Benchmark for Fifth Consecutive Year with a Perfect 10/10 Score

13 October 2026

Singapore, 13 October 2026 – Wilmar International Limited (“Wilmar” or “the Group”) has achieved a score of 10/10 in The State of Children’s Rights & Business Benchmark 2026 by Global Child Forum and Boston Consulting Group, marking its fifth consecutive year with a perfect score.

Wilmar was ranked first in the Food, Beverage and Personal Care sector among 1,802 companies assessed worldwide for the benchmark. This sustained recognition reflects the Group’s efforts to embed child protection across its operations and extend these practices into its supply chain.

“Children living with their families in remote plantations may face challenges in accessing education, healthcare and other essential services. We seek to address these challenges by providing schools, clinics, housing and access to utilities for our employees and their families,” said Jeremy Goon, Chief Sustainability Officer at Wilmar.

“We are encouraged to see children who grew up in our plantation communities go on to pursue higher education, receive scholarships and embark on their professional careers. This reinforces the importance of creating safe and supportive environments where children can learn and thrive.”

Wilmar currently supports over 12,000 children living with their families on its oil palm plantations in Indonesia, Malaysia and West Africa by providing access to education, healthcare and essential amenities.

Wilmar introduced its Child Protection Policy in 2017, supported by country-specific implementation manuals for Indonesia and Malaysia. Its approach focuses on three core areas:

  • Embedding child protection in its operations
  • Empowering children through education and awareness
  • Extending child protection measures into its supply chain

Beyond its own operations, Wilmar collaborates with non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders to raise awareness and strengthen suppliers’ capacity to implement child protection measures.

The Global Child Forum Benchmark is an independent, evidence-based evaluation of how companies address children’s rights. The 2026 benchmark assessed 1,802 companies across eight sectors and 33 industries against 26 benchmark indicators covering governance and collaboration, workplace, marketplace and community and environment.

Global Child Forum is a non-profit foundation headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Founded by the Swedish Royal Family in 2009, it works to advance children’s rights in support of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
