The Sekar Imej Conservation Area (SICA) is a significant biodiversity conservation landscape located in the Paitan District of Sabah, Malaysia. Covering 2,469 hectares of mainly lowland mixed dipterocarp forest, SICA represents the largest conservation commitment within the plantation operations of Wilmar International in Malaysia, set aside to protect and preserve a valuable forest ecosystem amidst agricultural surroundings. The area lies between larger forest reserves like Paitan and Lingkabau and supports a mosaic of habitats — from regenerating logged forests to intact rich tropical vegetation — that provide critical refuge for a wide variety of wildlife and plant species.

SICA is designed not just as a protected patch of forest but as a Biodiversity and Carbon Research Center by 2030, where conservation, scientific study, and community engagement go hand in hand.
